How effective are free machinery translations?

I believe that there are a very few people in the world who don’t like the word ‘FREE’.

However, free are not effective in all the cases. One of them is translation.

The major barrier for globalization used to be geographical areas, which we were able to conquer with invention of many tools and vessels like ships, airplanes, telephones and the mighty Internet. The next barrier is obviously the language. However, we have English serving as global language, but it cannot be as effective as maternal language, all the times. This constantly gave rise to the concept of translations.

Majority of translation used to be a paid service, in its early days. But after the invention of computers and its applications, we have many tools that could translate automatically. Language is not a straight forward entity and thus it cannot be translated as effectively by machines as it is done by humans. If you can compare a machinery translation with a manual translation, you will be able to notice that some thing is missing in the prior one. It is obviously the life in language.

Planning A Holiday through Internet

We spent a lot of time and money in planning a holiday. Sometimes, we face few problems despite of planning. We forget to pack few pairs of clothes, forget to check the arrangements beforehand and many more. Due to lack of planning and pre-preparation, we make more mistakes in making the trip memorable. It is better to plan the vaccination before three months.

Vacation does not just mean about arriving at the airport. Deciding about the destination, what are the places to view, hotel bookings, and many more beforehand? Study about the place or destination, culture, language, importance of the places before few months of travel. Discuss the points with your family before traveling to the place. This study about the place is easy through Internet. Planning a holiday with help of Internet, the chances of mistakes is less.

Vacations websites provides information about the language, places and many more. It also helps in getting cheap and affordable deals to save money from travel. Few vacations websites designed with all the information we want like holiday flight with vacation rentals, travel guide shop, language courses and guides shop. Travel advice and travel tools about the place are available 24/7 for you.

Iraqi Troops Face Rise in Prescription Drug Abuse

The Iraqi troops are now facing the new problem of prescription drug abuse. The present position in Iraq is still worse; and even with the assistance of US army they still sees the position uncontrolled.

They mostly use these to control their fear, stress and tension during duty hours. They find the pills very helpful in their duty and find it hard to sign in without their pill popped.

As we know these people are not allowed to use alcohol or drugs during their duty hours and they will be fired if they were found abused. They find prescription drugs very good alternative for these. These abused prescription drugs mostly involve tranquilizers, painkillers and other drugs, according to the doctors and other health specialists.

The most common drug abused here seems to be the Artane which is used to treat Parkinson’s disease. This drug gives euphoric effects when used in high doses.

Buying a Home in 2009: Good or Bad?

People are in a big dilemma to choose between buying a home or not.

This has started with the recession that broke out, and washed away all the soaring real estate prices. Now whatever prices existing out there in the industry are tempting people to become home owners.

At the same time they have these problems like job security, consumer confidence, plummeting businesses, and many more factors which are threatening from getting into buying a home.

Prices in 20 major cities of US were estimated to have fallen by around 18 percent. What this means is that you can buy a home in these cities to a price which you could have bought in the year 2004. The prices are tempting people towards buying a house.

At the same time there are some analysts who say that prices might still fall to lower number than what it is now. And this means you are draining away your money, into something which is not worth it.

This is a big confusion out here. If any body can help please let me know.

OLPC: Reducing Size by Half

It is not a tech company or an auto company to have struggled the economy crisis. It was meant to serve a big purpose. An extremely bigger task, as big as building a Pyramid again. But it could not resist the recession taking over it.

The One Laptop Per Child project has announced that it is going to reduce its size by half if the present size.

“It pains me to post this”, their blog says, “we have striven to avoid this over the past few months, but it is unavoidable”.

The situation is similar with many of the charity projects out there. They find it hard to look out for sponsors or donors to help them achieve their targets.

Their targets may look reasonable before the crisis started. These targets were created for those times. But for now, the situation has changed. All those targets seem to be impractical and unachievable.

Beautiful Roses: Let Them Welcome Your Guests

If you have some empty place around your house (around your compound only; nor neighbor’s) and you want to make good use of it, just plan fro some good Home Garden.

Home garden is not just for people with a big lawn in front of their house. If you have space around your house, and a heart kind enough to help existence of plants in this polluted world, then you are eligible enough to be a plant owner.

Since you can’t grow an Apple Orchard within the little place you have, plan for something small but pleasant.

I recommend growing Rose plants; because they grow well even in difficult conditions and blossom almost incessantly from frost to summer. You will have hardly any mess with the plant and what is great is that Rose flowers are most good-looking, pleasant-smelling flora from the entire flower kingdom.

You can have two rose plants on the two sides of your doors (only if the location can provide sufficient air and sunlight), welcoming your guests with their gentle smile.

How Does Information Explosion Impact Us?

We have excess information, these days, available through many resources. As we are in information age, excess of information is always helpful for us to standout in the present day competition.

But we are hearing a lot about Information Explosion these days. If excess of information is so helpful and so useful why use the word Explosion? It shows that there is a negative impact of so much availability of information. And as the people of Information age it is our responsibility to know it.

Excess of information has pushed the evolution of another virtual world called the Electronic World. There are many people in the world who use their physical world just to carry out some routine jobs like eating, sleeping, etc.

There is no regulation of excess of information been produced everyday. If people are not confident of the information source, it is never used. But still adds up to the quantity of the information. It is like dumping your litter in your own house everyday.

Tips to Quit Marijuana By Stopping Carvings

Marijuana is one of the popular drugs and most of the people are affected. It harms your life and it may even kill you. If you are a regular user of marijuana and you want to stop it, I have some tips which will help you in stopping it.

First you should avoid the places and situations where you are tempted to consume marijuana. And whenever you want to take marijuana instead of that you can take any chewing substitutes. Don’t be alone and always communicate with your friends and family members. This helps you to reduce your stress and makes you divert from the temptation.

You should also do some breathing exercises, and always involve in sports and activities that you enjoy most.

Quitting suddenly sometimes makes you ill, so stop it slowly by decreasing the amount of intake. It is also better to consult the doctor and follow the instructions given by him.

When I was a regular drug user, I don’t know that I am hurting my family members. And now I am very happy with my family members as I stopped it.

Microsoft Fixes IE Issue

It is a fact that Internet Explorer has around 70% of market share among the browsers. It was a big dilemma for many people worldwide when they came to know about the security flaws in the browser.

The Internet Explorer was a successful product of the Microsoft and very popular browser worldwide. But suddenly they came across this security issue after affecting two million window users and 10,000 estimated websites all around the world. This was a security flaw in the browser which could leave people robbed of their personal or confidential information. This will be really bad news for the online shoppers’ and the retailers’ as this is their peak season.

Microsoft was very fast to act upon it and recently released a security patch for this flaw. This update can be downloaded from the net and it is very simple task for the Vista users.

Others can update their browser manually.

Hurricane Cause Severe Looses

Hurricanes are very charming to track and to view on satellite, but beyond the fascination there is some harsh reality behind these storms.

Hurricanes are one of the powerful and terrible forces in the nature. Among some of its effects, such as plentiful amounts of rain which can be beneficial during a drought, but most of the time these effects are unwanted.

One of the major causes of a hurricane is that the water which is 80 degrees or above the combined action of air, water and heat produces enormous spinning system of clouds rain and wind. Winds in hurricane can reach up to 200mph. Sometimes tornadoes occur as a result of tremendous energy and unsteadiness created when hurricane makes landfall. The tornadoes which occur in hurricanes are minimal in strength.

Heavy rain and flooding are also one of the effects of hurricane in which tremendous amount of rainfall becomes a major factor, and cause significant flooding with hurricane.

Scientists found that economic damages from hurricane have increased in America from the past 8 years, due to the overpopulation, wealth and infrastructure.

Are Horoscopes Worth Believing?

I don’t know why people like to know their horoscopes only on New Year eves. But as the New Year is approaching, many regions around the world do look into their horoscopes to know what the New Year is bringing to them.

There are many issues related to horoscopes and the future prediction. Some people come up with some theories which are not as stable and not as scientific. But many of the news papers give horoscopes results each and every day. I know many people who don’t step out without reading what their day is going to be. It is just like some addiction. But how many of those are worth believing is still a question.

Even I used to believe news paper horoscopes. Every day, I used to look into them before reading the headlines of the news. Sometimes it used to be wrong but very rarely it was true. And days passed that I continued it that way, and I believe it now. And one day I got a chance to see how they predicted horoscopes in that very newspaper.

They used to scribble some sentences on few papers, and pick randomly for each horoscope and publish it in the newspapers.

And after seeing that method, I didn’t understand whether I was a dunce to believe it every day.

Designing Landscape Garden Is Not Difficult

Planning or designing a landscape garden in your apartment is not difficult even if it is done for the first time. No need to go for help of big companies-it is a normal process, which is done with little concentration. There are steps for planning and designing the landscape garden in your apartment.

First take a look at the place and take a picture of it, plan for different types of plants of flowers are to be placed at which place. The place where the garden is raised should be taken care before hand. Basic elements play a significant role while planning so don’t ignore things like scale, color etc.

Be clear about where the plants are to be placed, where will be the walking area, drainage system and many other things should be taken care while planning landscape garden. Be careful while selecting plants, which select seasonally. Otherwise, you may disappoint with the un-flowering plants for several month, which are just finished their flowering season.

Traffic Jam Leads To Many Problems

Recently I have seen in the New York Magazine, São Paulo has the world's worst traffic jam. The accumulated tailbacks have reached in average more than 120 miles (190 km) during rush hours. One of the major problems faced by the biggest cities is traffic problem. It may due to more population or bad construction of roads etc. Traffic congestion occurs when a volume of vehicles remained for long time. Because of traffic jams most of the people are unable to reach their destinations in time.

Because of this traffic jams it is difficult to reach emergency vehicles to their destination. Recently I have read in newspaper that U.S. has the world’s worst traffic congestion in Indiana. It has reached almost 120 miles during the rush hour and it has taken a whole day to clear the traffic congestion. The government has to take some steps to prevent the traffic jam.

How Do You Want To Charge Your Mobile?

What can be a gun in a war without bullets? It would be a trouble rather than a weapon at times of use.

The same theme goes even with our portable mobile gadgets. No matter whatever they is, laptop, iPod, mobile phones even a car which is out of its battery, they are all nothing but a big nuisance of your tour without battery.

It is a fact that low life batteries and gadgets with those batteries are a major barrier for usage of mobile gadgets. Why should I buy a laptop if I can’t use it for all my journey time because I am not having a place to recharge it for each hour I use it? It would be an additional useless luggage for me without working. So are the other mobile gadgets.

It is possible to create chargers for your mobile gadgets in such a way that you can recharge them with out using electricity. All you have to do is create your own dream charger and post it so that major electronic companies can manufacture them.

Striking Demand for Obama's Swearing Ceremony Tickets

What is going to be the biggest block buster for the year 2009? People say it is nothing but the inaugural function where their first black President will take charge. How is that you won’t attend the great function for which you yourselves are responsible?

Tickets for the ceremony are in big demand. May be the biggest Christmas gift you can ever present to your dear ones will be this very ticket to the swearing in function to be held on January 20th next year.

The major factor that draws these many people to this function is that the candidate is Obama. It is a historical event of the swearing of first black citizen as the president. Who won’t like to be a part of an historical event?

It is estimated that around 1.5 million people all over the world, will attend to the ceremony. Already all the businesses of Washington DC have started to cash on this demand.

Know the Strategy of Red

Color is nothing but a brain’s sensation to some certain wavelength of light when it reflects back to us into our eyes. This special ability is only to the human beings and some species of living beings on Earth. So there is nothing like color when we consider in terms of entire space. Color is only related to us the Human beings on Earth. And this is what makes human beings special of all the creation.

Of all the colors available for us, Red is the most popular and crucial one. As I am not going deep into scientific terms of the Red color lets talk something general.

We generally use Red to symbolize vital things like Stop, Danger, Love, Warning, etc. It is its wavelength that makes it visible even from much longer distance. It also impacts the human behavior to some extent. Humans have red blood. So it must be the blood relation with this color that makes us allow it into deeper parts of our life.

Breeding Piranhas is a good experience

It is very boring to follow usual routine always and every day. It is very important to do something crazy in life and this is how you have all the excitement of life. While some ways are very unusual and seems very weird, you can perform some acts like riding a horse backwards, pushing your car all the way to home form office even it is working, and etc. Some have even bigger plans, but better keep away from them, because all crazy things may not be suitable to all the persons.

Well coming to me, I recently started breeding a piranha in my fish tank. And you might ask why piranhas, not octopuses. Let us try it afterwards when you have no problem with piranhas.

Piranhas are fresh water living fishes. And they are very friendly creatures unless they go mad with hunger. I remember, the day when I forgot that piranhas do feed on other fishes and left my tiny tetra along with its friends. When I returned after a while it was missing and I saw my piranhas burping at me.

So next time you try out something crazy, make sure you have the list of all possible errors.

Who is an efficient Human Resource Development Manager?

Human resource is an important aspect of organizations these days. It is said to be so important because it is defined as combination of traditionally administrative personnel functions with performance, Employee Relations and resource planning. In terms of recruitment and selection it is important to consider carrying out a thorough job analysis to determine the level of skills/technical abilities, competencies, flexibility of the employee required etc. At this point it is important to consider both the internal and external factors that can have an effect on the recruitment of employees. Human resource Development is all about improved performance and productivity through increased knowledge, competencies, skills, and attitudes.

So the role of HRD managers is very vital for organizational development activities. The manager of HRD should possess knowledge of program planning and design, as well as knowledge of how to evaluate learners, programs, and instructors. My friend works as a recruiter San Francisco. He says that it is very important for an HRD manager to describe the job correctly and that any personal specifications are stated during recruitment process.

Finally, an HRD manager says to be efficient when he is apt in evaluating career development programs for employees as well as organizational development activities for the owners.

It’s Awesome to Watch the Beauty of Space

Everyone has a desire and eagerness to know what really lies in the space. The invention and development of highly sophisticated cameras has made the scientists and the astronauts easy to taken thousands of pictures in the space. The space pictures not only help the scientists to do their research for finding the hidden secrets of nature but also for the common people to know about what the space really looks like. Some times we get an opportunity to see some exciting things on those pictures which we cannot see through our naked eye. The pictures are taken some thousands of miles away from the earth.

The most fascinating thing about the space pictures is that they show us the immaculate beauty of space. The cloud formations, the Tropical thunderstorms formed over the ocean, the beautiful sparkling stars and the moving comets it’s all amazing to watch.

There are things in the space which are beyond our imagination, the gigantic rocks and the colliding objects. Kevin w. Kelley an artist, best-selling author and entrepreneur who has effectively translated complex information about our existence into simple but powerful visualization that convey deep intuitive understanding.

One of those Images of the magnificent starburst galaxy, Messier 82 (M82) is remarkable for its bright blue disk, webs of shredded clouds, and fiery-looking plumes of glowing hydrogen blasting out of its central regions.

Spiral Galaxy M101 which is twice the size of the Milky Way shows stunning features of stars and dust seen along the galaxy's face-on disk. It is quite interesting and exciting to see the space objects through these pictures which show us the true beauty of the nature.

Free Online Movies

Watching movies has become the favorite hobby of the majority of consumers around the world- but less consumers are fond of paying high prices or even having to spend time to make it to the cinema on time. In that case, a solution can be found with the Internet- where consumers can watch free online movies any time of day or night.

The Internet is just one big directory of movies and TV shows ready to be searched. With a few searches, virtually any movie can be found completely free. Most of the free movies and shows are likely to be older, since directors are more likely to give out rights after the movie's fame has died down. There are alternate routes to get free online movies and can check the quality by watching few movie clips.

There is also the possibility of getting free movie passes and subscriptions to online rental services thanks to Internet offers and filling out surveys. These can take a lot of time to complete, and sometimes will require giving out personal information. Nevertheless, this will give consumers free gifts and money they can use to view movies online for free. It's a nice tradeoff, since the consumer would be watching the movies online the legal way- and would have no fear of consequence.

Clairvoyance

Clairvoyance is the purported ability to gain information about an object, location or physical event through means other than the known human senses, a form of extra-sensory perception. A person said to have the ability of clairvoyance is referred to as a clairvoyant ("one who sees clear").

Claims for the existence of paranormal psychic abilities such as clairvoyance are highly controversial. Parapsychology explores this possibility, but no evidence for such paranormal phenomena is accepted by the scientific community.

Within parapsychology, clairvoyance is used exclusively to refer to the transfer of information that is both contemporary to, and hidden from, the clairvoyant. It is differentiated from telepathy in that the information is said to be gained directly from an external physical source, rather than being transferred from the mind of one individual to another.

Outside of parapsychology, clairvoyance is often used to refer to other forms of Anomalous cognition, most commonly the perception of events that have occurred in the past, or which will occur in the future (known as retro cognition and precognition respectively), or to refer to communications with the dead.

Clairvoyance is related to remote viewing, although the term "remote viewing" itself is not as widely applicable to clairvoyance because it refers to a specific controlled process.

Dimensions of Business Technology Management

BTM addresses four critical dimensions that serve as integrated building blocks supporting improvements across the enterprise:

Process: The first dimension for institutionalizing BTM principles is set of robust, flexible and repeatable processes. Simply defining these processes is insufficient though, to effectively implement BTM requires that processes be defined and consistently optimized evaluated to ensure:
  • General quality of business practice—Doing the right things
  • Efficiency—Doing things quickly with little redundancy
  • Effectiveness—Doing things well.
Organization: Management processes are more likely to succeed when they are supported by appropriate organizational structures based on clear understanding of roles, responsibilities, and decision rights. Such organizational structures generally include:
  • Participative bodies—involving senior-level business and technology participants on a part-time but routine basis
  • Centralized bodies—requiring specialized, dedicated technology staff
  • Needs-based bodies—involving rotational assignments, created to deal with particular efforts
The right set of structures will vary according to an enterprise’s value discipline, its primary organizational structure, and its relative BTM maturity. Centralized bodies, such as an Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO), tend to require specialized, dedicated staff. Participative bodies, such as a Business Technology Investment Board, are ongoing, part-time assignments for their participants— the key stakeholders.

Information: Valid, timely information is a prerequisite for effective decision-making. This information must be delivered in a way that is comprehensible to non-specialists and, at the same time, actionable in terms of informing choices that matter. Useful information does not just happen. It depends on the interaction of two related elements: data and metrics. Data must be available, relevant, accurate, and reliable. Metrics distill raw data into useful information.

Technology: Effective technology can help connect all the other dimensions. Appropriate technology helps make processes easier to execute, facilitates timely information sharing, and enables consistent coordination between elements and layers of the organization. It does this through the following:
  • Automation of manual tasks
  • Analytics for decision making
  • Reporting
  • Integration between management systems

5 Decorating Mistakes You Should Avoid

Just after the search of the apartment next comes the interior decoration and decorating miami apartment will be so much easier when you know some simple decorating mistakes to avoid. Here are some of the mistakes to be avoided at the time of decorating an apartment.

All Furniture Against the Wall
One of the worst decorating mistakes you can make is to pres all of your furniture in a room against the wall. While in a small bedroom pressing or placing furniture against the wall may be the only option, in a larger space like the family room or a den, you should try to avoid this. Many people think that placing furniture against the wall will make a small room appear larger. This is false. Pull the furniture away from the wall to create depth and the appearance for more room. Whether you try your furniture placed in the middle of the room, at and angle, or simple pull it about 6 inches away from the wall, you will be amazed at the difference this can make.

Matching Fabrics Throughout
If you want a custom interior designer look in your apartment, one of the worst decorating mistakes you can make is to have all matching fabric. Specifically in a bedroom, people will often match the bedspread to the drapes to the pillows. This much of any one kind of fabric can be dull, boring, and overwhelming all at once. You can create visual interesting using fabrics throughout a room that coordinate or simple flow together. Using a variety of fabrics will create new textures in a room, look more custom, and really make your room look like an interior designer gave you advise.

Covering all Wall Space
Many people make the simple decorating mistake in their home of covering every bit of open wall space in the home. This decorating mistake can be as simple as having furniture lining the walls or even pictures and artwork covering every bit of upper wall space.

All Matching Furniture
Another decorating mistake is when people buy all matching furniture. Just because you can find matching coffee tables, side tables, and sofa tables in package does not mean you have to buy it. In fact, there should be a law against matching sets of furniture. One of the quickest ways to make your home look like a hotel is to use all matching furniture. Try remaking matching furniture by painting it, swapping it with family and friends, or simply selling it to have money to buy some new furniture to break up the hotel look.

Beige Nightmare
There is no need to have a million shade of beige in a room with no color! The overuse of beige screams hotel room! Try leaving the walls beige and adding a colorful slip cover to the couch.

Avoiding all the above said mistakes will make you feel good and comfortable at the time of decorating your new las vegas apartment.

Essential Fatty Acids

Essential fatty acids, or EFAs, are fatty acids that cannot be constructed within an organism from other components (generally all references are to humans) by any known chemical pathways; and therefore must be obtained from the diet. The term refers to those involved in biological processes, and not fatty acids, which may just play a role as fuel. As many of the compounds created from essential fatty acids can be taken directly in the diet, it is possible that the amounts required in the diet (if any) are overestimated. It is also possible they can be underestimated as organisms can still survive in unideal, malnourished conditions.

There are two families of EFAs: ω-3 (or omega-3 or n-3) and ω-6 (omega-6, n-6.) Fats from each of these families are essential, as the body can convert one omega-3 to another omega-3, for example, but cannot create an omega-3 from scratch. They were originally designated as Vitamin F when they were discovered as essential nutrients in 1923. In 1930, work by Burr, Burr and Miller showed that they are better classified with the fats than with the vitamins

Functions
  1. The biological effects of the ω-3 and ω-6 fatty acids are mediated by their mutual interactions.
  2. In the body, essential fatty acids serve multiple functions. In each of these, the balance between dietary ω-3 and ω-6 strongly affects function.
  3. They are modified to make
    • The classic eicosanoids (affecting inflammation and many other cellular functions)
    • The endocannabinoids (affecting mood, behavior and inflammation)
    • The lipoxins from ω-6 EFAs and resolvins from ω-3 (in the presence of aspirin, down regulating inflammation.)
    • The isofurans, neurofurans, isoprostanes, hepoxilins, epoxyeicosatrienoic acids (EETs) and Neuroprotectin D
  4. They form lipid rafts (affecting cellular signaling)
  5. They act on DNA (activating or inhibiting transcription factors such as NFκB, which is linked to pro-inflammatory cytokine production).

Digital distribution

Digital distribution is also known as digital delivery and Electronic software distribution) is the principle of providing digital information and content over the Internet in the form of products or services. It has been growing steadily and increasing rapidly since the turn of the century due to the rise of consumer broadband.
  • The major attraction for digital distribution is its direct nature.
  • To make a commercially successful work, artists usually must enter their industry’s publishing chain. Publishers help artists advertise, fund and distribute their work to retail outlets.
  • In some industries, particularly videogames, artists find themselves bound to publishers, and in many cases unable to make the content they want; the publisher might not think it will profit well.
  • This can quickly lead to the standardization of the content and to the stifling of new, considerably risky ideas.
  • By opting for digital distribution, an artist can get their work into the public sphere of interest easily with potentially minimum business overheads. This often leads to cheaper goods for the consumer and increased profits for the artists, as well as increased artistic freedom.
Digital distribution also opens the door to new business models. For instance, an artist could release one track from an album or one chapter from a book at a time instead of waiting for them all to be completed. This either gives them a cash boost to help continue or warns that their work is not financially viable before they have sunk excessive money and time into it. Videogames have increased flexibility in this area, demonstrated by micro payment models such as the one in Gun bound. A clear result of these new models is their accessibility to smaller artists or artist teams who do not have the time, funds, or expertise to make a new product in one go.

Electric Circuit

Unbroken path along with an electric current exists or is intended or able to flow. A simple circuit might consist of an electric cell (the power source), two conducting wires (one end of each being attached to each terminal of the cell), and a small lamp (the load) to which the free ends of the wires leading from the cell are attached. When the connections are made properly, current flows, the circuit is “closed,” and the lamp will light. The current flows from the cell along one wire to the lamp, through the lamp, and along the other wire back to the cell. When the wires are disconnected, the circuit is said to be “open” or “broken.” In practice, circuits are opened by as switches, fuses, and circuit breakers. Two general circuit classifications are series and parallel. The elements of a series circuit are connected end to end; the same current flows through its parts one after another. The elements of a parallel circuit are connected so that each component has the same voltage across its terminals; the current flow is divided among its parts. When two circuit elements are connected in series, their effective resistance (impedance if the circuit is being fed alternating current) is equal to the sum of the separate resistances; the current is the same in each component throughout the circuit. When circuit elements are connected in parallel, the total resistance is less than that of the element having the least resistance, and the total current is equal to the sum of the currents in the individual branches. A battery-powered circuit is an example of a direct-current circuit; the voltages and currents are constant in magnitude and do not vary with time. In alternating-current circuits, the voltage and current periodically reverse direction with time. A standard electrical outlet supplies alternating current. Lighting circuits and electrical machinery use alternating current circuits. Many other devices, including computers, stereo systems, and television sets, must first convert the alternating current to direct current. A special internal circuit usually called a power supply does that. A digital circuit is a special kind of electronic circuit used in computers and many other devices. Magnetic circuits are analogous to electric circuits, where magnetic materials are regarded as conductors of magnetic flux. Magnetic circuits can be part of an electric circuit; a transformer is an example. Equivalent circuits are used in circuit analysis as a modeling tool; a simple circuit made up of a resistor, and an inductor might be used to electrically represent a loudspeaker. Electrical circuits can also be used in other fields of studies. In the study of heat flow, for example, a resistor is used to represent thermal insulation. Operating electric circuits can be used for general problem solving.

Photoshop for the beginners

With Photoshop we can reduce the weight of the PSD up to 75%. This is something to think about, if we can reduce so much the information in a PSD it would be because this format is not very optimized, right? Most people think that's why there are files with compression, TIFF or JPG but they agree that keeping the original files in PSD format is much more comfortable than working with TIFF (i don't think we need to compare it with JPG). Well, how can we do this? Something as simple as hiding the layers before saving the file, if after that you compress it with Winrar or WinZip you will save a lot more. Here you have the information of the experiment: Normal PSD: 49,2 MB PSD saved with the hidden layers: 38,9 MB PSD saved with the hidden layers and zipped: 11,5 MB The new version of Photoshop CS3 is out and we still have the same problem we will have to wait a little more. Now, if you have to send a PSD via ftp or email you have no choice than doing this.

Have you ever tried to make an image black and white? Did you use the desaturate method. Now if I go to Image>adjustments>desaturate and take away the color from the photo... I will be left with a black and white picture. But it doesn't look as good as it could. It seems dull and lacks depth. Here is a better way of making images black and white - Open up the picture you want to use. In the Layers palette go to the button circled in red in the picture below and then go to channel mixer in the drop down menu. Put in settings feel free to experiment. Now I am left with a much nicer black and white picture. You could even add a unsharpen mask (Filter>Sharpen>Unsharpen Mask). Much better that the desaturated image right?

Adding cool effects to photos is quite amusing. A fun one is to split apart a picture like a puzzle. First find an image of Guitar. Then open the saved picture in Photoshop. We are going to split the image. Go to Views>Rullers. Or simply press CTRL+R. Then using the Rectangular Marquee Tool. Press Ctrl+J to copy and paste the selected part in a new layer. Repeat these steps until all the parts of guitar is selected. Try drawing different rectangles because we want to add this puzzle effect. Select a layer and choose the blending options. Again apply the stroke effect as needed. Now right click the layer you applied the effects and select Copy layer style. Go to next layer and right click on the layer and choose paste layer style. Paste the layer style to remaining layers. Click Ctrl+T and transform each layer. With some Gradient Effect you can get a better effect.

Follow these instructions to add a contemporary frosted pixel overlay to your photos. Open a picture into Adobe Photoshop. Next, press Ctrl+J to duplicate the layer. Change the blending mode to Overlay. Go to Filter> Pixelate> Mosaic and in the Mosaic Photoshop filter settings, set the pixels to the size that you want the squares to be. Then, press Ctrl+J to duplicate the top layer and change the blending mode from Overlay to Multiply. Now go to Filter> Stylize> Find Edges. Press Ctrl+Shift+U to desaturate the outline so that they don't have any color to it. Go to Filter> Blur> Gaussian Blur and add a little gaussian blur to the outline which will add the frosty effect.

Does honey kills bacteria

Honey is composed of two principal sugars, laevulose and dextrose. These sugars do not require to be broken downward by the digestive procedure, and then honey is rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream, giving a fast vitality hike to the system. It too contains protein, vitamins and minerals, but no cholesterol. Darker honeys have many nutrients than soft ones. Vitamin and mineral substance bet on the flowered origin of the honey.

Honey has little than 2% sodium, and as such can be labeled as sodium-free merchandise by Food & Drug Administration standards. Honey has been used in many medical applications over the years, but new studies are now capable to demonstrate its advantageous nature in some applications, including as antibacterial topical handling for burns and ulcers. The cause is because honey has osmotic properties; that is, it tends to remove water. Water molecules powerfully respond with the sugars in honey, leaving less water accessible for microorganisms. Thus, infection-causing bacteria is literally dehydrated to death by honey. Enzymatic activities of honey also produce hydrogen peroxide, which generate highly reactive free radicals that kill bacteria, further contributing to its antibacterial properties. Honey has also been used to successfully store skin grafts for up to twelve weeks. Lab tests have shown that different types of honey have differing antibacterial sensitivities, so research continues to determine which floral sources are most beneficial.

Ghosts in Egypt

The peculiar ideas that the Egyptians held about the composition of man greatly favored the belief in apparitions and ghosts. The notion that the double of man wandered about after death added to the Egyptian belief in ghosts. E. A. Wallis Budge observed as follows: "According to them a man consisted of a physical body, a shadow, a double, a soul, a heart, a spirit called the khu, a power, a name, and a spiritual body. When the body died the shadow departed from it, and could only be brought back to it by the performance of a mystical ceremony; the double lived in the tomb with the body, and was there visited by the soul whose habitation was in heaven. The soul was, from one aspect, a material thing, and like the ka, or double, was believed to partake of the funeral offerings which were brought to the tomb; one of the chief objects of sepulchral offerings of meat and drink was to keep the double in the tomb and to do away with the necessity of its wandering about outside the tomb in search of food. It is clear from many texts that, unless the double was supplied with sufficient food, it would wander from the tomb and eats any kind of offal and drink any kind of dirty water which it might find in its path. But besides the shadow, and the double, and the soul, the spirit of the deceased, which usually had its abode in heaven, was sometimes to be found in the tomb. There is, however, good reason for stating that the immortal part of man that lived in the tomb and had its special abode in the statue of the deceased was the 'double.' This is proved by the fact that a special part of the tomb was reserved for the ka, or double, which was called the 'house of the ka,' and that a priest, called the 'priest of the ka,' was specially appointed to minister the therein."

Packing Tips

There are two choices when you are moving to your new apartment. You pack yourself or you hire some moving professionals. Depending on the distance you are moving, you have to decide on the quantity of the materials you are moving and the quality of the materials packing. You are also required to adjust how you pack, depending upon your plan to pack yourself or hire professionals. If you want to do it yourself, you are going to be a lot gentler with your belongings than a bunch of strangers will. How you pack is also dependant on how you plan on moving your things. If you plan on using the flatbed of a pickup truck, chances are, things are going to get bounced around a lot more than they would if you plan on using an actually Ryder or U-Haul truck. If there is rain forecast for the day you are moving, you’ll need to make sure you have a tarp or some kind of cover so your things don’t get ruined. You also need to take the distance into account. Some moves don’t even leave the building, while others are cross-country. Moving is never a fun experience but planning ahead and having everything you need done can help reduce the stress a little bit. Finally remember, there are two kinds of people in this world, people who pack correctly and people who don’t. So which kind of person you are???
This literature was found when I was in for Minneapolis apartment search. I found a beautiful apartment and moved after hiring a professional moving agent.

Categorization Of Multidimensional Scaling

Multidimensional scaling (MDS) is a set of related statistical techniques often used in data visualization for exploring similarities or dissimilarities in data. MDS is a special case of ordination. An MDS algorithm starts with a matrix of item-item similarities, and then assigns a location of each item in a low-dimensional space, suitable for graphing or 3D visualization.
MDS algorithms fall into a taxonomy, depending on the meaning of the input matrix:
Classical multidimensional scaling
Also known as Torgerson Scaling or Torgerson-Gower scaling – takes an input matrix giving dissimilarities between pairs of items and outputs a coordinate matrix whose configuration minimizes a loss function called strain.
Metric multidimensional scaling
A superset of classical MDS that generalizes the optimisation procedure to a variety of loss functions and input matrices of known distances with weights and so on. A useful loss function in this context is called stress which is often minimized using a procedure called Stress Majorization.
Generalized multidimensional scaling (GMDS)
A superset of metric MDS that allows for the target distances to be non-Euclidean.
Non-metric multidimensional scalingIn contrast to metric MDS, non-metric MDS both finds a non-parametric monotonic relationship between the dissimilarities in the item-item matrix and the Euclidean distance between items, and the location of each item in the low-dimensional space. The relationship is typically found using isotonic regression.

Private Equity Investment Types

The Private Equity sector is broadly defined as investing in a company through a negotiated process. Investments typically involve a transformational, value-added, active management strategy.
Private Equity investments can be divided into the following categories:
  • Venture capital: an investment to create a new company, or expand a smaller company that has undeveloped or developing revenues
  • Buy-out: acquisition of a significant portion or a majority control in a more mature company. The acquisition normally entails a change of ownership
  • Special situation: investments in a distressed company, or a company where value can be unlocked as a result of a one-time opportunity
Private equity firms generally receive a return on their investments through one of three ways: an IPO, a sale or merger of the company they control, or a recapitalization. Unlisted securities may be sold directly to investors by the company (called a private offering) or to a private equity fund, which pools contributions from smaller investors to create a capital pool.
Considerations for investing in private equity funds relative to other forms of investment include:
  • Substantial entry costs, with most private equity funds requiring significant initial investment plus further investment for the first few years of the fund.
  • Investments in limited partnership interests are referred to as "illiquid" investments which should earn a premium over traditional securities, such as stocks and bonds. Once invested, it is very difficult to gain access to your money as it is locked-up in long-term investments which can last for as long as twelve years. Distributions are made only as investments are converted to cash; limited partners typically have no right to demand that sales be made.
  • If a private equity firm can't find good investment opportunities, it will not draw on an investor's commitment. Given the risks associated with private equity investments, an investor can lose all of its investment if the fund invests in failing companies. The risk of loss of capital is typically higher in venture capital funds, which invest in companies during the earliest phases of their development, and lower in mezzanine capital funds, which provide interim investments to companies which have already proven their viability but have yet to raise money from public markets.
  • Consistent with the risks outlined above, private equity can provide high returns, with the best private equity managers significantly outperforming the public markets.
For the above mentioned reasons, private equity fund investment is for those who can afford to have their capital locked in for long periods of time and who are able to risk losing significant amounts of money. This is balanced by the potential benefits of annual returns which range up to 30% for successful funds.

Different Types Of Income

There are three different types of incomes that one can get. Linear, Residual and Multiplex Incomes of earnings. Let’s see in brief:
  • Linear Income - here you exchange your time for money. The more money you want to earn, the more time you need to give up. Examples include salaried workers. If you stop working, your income also stops.
  • Residual Income - here you do the work once and get paid for e.g. by earning royalties. Examples include writers, singers.
  • Multiplex Income - this is income earned by leveraging. Consider the McDonald franchise concept. Ray Kroc did not become a millionaire by selling hamburgers. He had independent business owners who bought a franchise from him. They sell the hamburgers for him and each pay him a franchise fee and also a percentage of sales. What Ray has is a proven system. A system that can be duplicated. Multiplex income is based on the concept of “the power of duplication”. Examples include franchising & Network Marketing.

Affordable High Risk Medical Insurance

Finding affordable high-risk medical insurance is almost as difficult these days as finding a needle in a proverbial haystack. However, whether you are looking for affordable traditional medical insurance or you're thinking about opening a Health Savings Account, there are steps you can take that will reduce your monthly premium. Paying your premiums automatically from your bank account will save you money.
Not smoking or using chew will save you a lot of money. You know as well as anyone that you can't be serious about wanting to save money on health insurance if you are going to continue smoking or using chew. Unfortunately the same thing applies to being overweight. Insurance companies use your BMI to help determine how much to charge you every month for your insurance. The higher your BMI the more you're going to pay. Losing even a little weight can make a difference in how much you pay every month.
If you regularly participate in an extreme sport or if you have a dangerous hobby you can count on paying more for your health insurance. Similarly, if you drive a fast sports car or a muscle car you may find yourself paying more for your health insurance.
If you are willing to increase your co-payment to 50% you can save money on your premium every month. Depending on how often you see your doctor in a normal year this could turn out to be a big savings. On a similar note, increasing your deductible will also decrease your monthly premium. Increasing your deductible to the max is what the most affordable - but potentially most high risk - medical insurance is all about.
These affordable policies are not designed to pay for your routine medical needs during the year. What these policies are is a safety net in the event that you suffer a catastrophic medical event or accident that creates humongous medical bills.
If you are deadly serious about finding the very lowest price for your health insurance then you must take the extra time to fill out the form on a minimum of 3 different price comparison sites.
But that's all you really need to do. Just use the information you learned in this article and fill out the form on 3 different price comparison websites. Make certain that you answer the questions the same way on all three forms so you are comparing the same policy - then simply pick the very best price you find.

Things to Ask in Apartment Search

I have noticed some important things that need to be asked to your landlord before renting your apartment. They are crucial because their ignorance may later make you feel repent. This list of points is documented by me when I am searching for one Miami apartment. I hope these points will make your apartment search easy. The list goes as follows:
  • Size of the apartment, Number of rooms, number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms, size of the kitchen, ventilation, parking area size, windows and doors installation.
  • Range of the apartment rent in the nearby location. Check whether it is in the limits of your affordability.
  • See what all the amenities, utilities, features it has up to your requirements. Ask if you can have, if you need them, with in your limited budget.
  • Any brokerage or application fee is minimal in case of hiring any apartment search broker.
  • Make sure if you can have your pets in your apartment. Some apartments will have some restrictions and some will not allow pets.
  • Inquire and agree on the first month and last months rent. Before that make sure you have properly understood about the security deposit terms and conditions.
  • Get to know about the nearest public transportation, recreation centers, parks, malls, etc.

A 10-Step Program for Search Engine Fitness

There's no silver bullet for search engine optimization. You need to do the right things a lot, over extended periods of time. Key among these are generating relevant content, gaining inbound links, and designing and coding for search friendliness.

Do these 10 exercises to start your program of search engine fitness:
  • Search your site on the top search engines: Google, Yahoo, MSN see how many links your site has. Search key terms and see who ranks high. Check how many links they have using a simple search.
  • List your site in a directory. This is where the search engines start.
  • Pick relevant terms. The terms you use to describe your business may not be the terms people are searching on. Use a keyword selection tool to get some directional data on search term frequency and actual search phrases.
  • Use search-friendly terms in the file names of your pages. These are the names that show up in the universal resource locator address bar at the top of your browser. Search engines place heavy emphasis on file names.
  • Insert invisible Meta tags at the top of your HTML using relative syntaxes. Search engines see them, browsers do not. Be sure to include relevant popular terms in the tags.
  • Use heading text to highlight key terms - Search engines place more emphasis on heading text.
  • Use alternate text to describe images: Search engines look for text, not images.
  • Make sure that all the important pages in your site can be reached through internal text links, not just menu navigation. Search engines cannot see graphical buttons or the text in them.
  • Include a site map. Search spiders use site maps to index your site. These and other useful tools can be found in the Google webmaster section.
  • Ask for links from high-ranking sites. Use email to contact the webmaster and tell them why they should link to you. Analyze their sites to see where/how they link to others and ask for similar links. Industry directories and reference lists are a good start. Don't mass email. Customize each request and use a spreadsheet to keep track of what requests you issued and when, and to schedule follow-up emails.

And, very importantly, don't fall prey to quick fixes or guaranteed placement schemes. Using tricks to exploit search engine algorithms will eventually backfire, resulting in penalties in the form of ranking downgrades. Stick to the basics, be patient, and move on. Organic optimization should not be a full-time job (unless you are doing it for a lot of companies). Taking these first 10 steps puts you on the path to search engine fitness. Remember, links, content, design, and persistence win the race.

A rare example

I read about the claims against Mr. Rod Khleif in a newspaper. They are not interesting but the reactions against the claims are very interesting. I came to know that the people who like Mr. Khleif opened a website to give answers for the claims against him. That will not happen in all the cases. The support he got from the people who got benefited from him is not less than any famous personality in the state. Mr. Khleif is well known for his real estate investments in the state of FL and its neighbors. He owns hundreds of houses on his name and facilitates the buyers and sellers of houses to get a better choice. I went through the website which states that – ‘This website was created by those who love and respect Rod Khleif. Over the years there have been many people who have worked tirelessly to no avail to tarnish the great reputation of this incredible man.’ Mr. Khleif got many mouths to speak for him against the claims.
