Prius Goes For More Energy-Saving Firsts

Toyota has utilized a collection of latest technologies in its new third-generation Prius intended at blending its appeal to the executives who are core people of the car’s fan base.

It has got many excellent features. The Prius will not only park itself laterally by using the Intelligent Parking Assist feature, it also guides at highway speed, when the Lane Keeping Assist system assists in keeping the car in its own lane by rolling the steering wheel. For the parking system to function, the driver should first locate the car properly, then activate the system and retain control of movement using the brake pedal.


Prius has automatic braking feature. The Prius utilizes the same forward-looking radar used by the automatic cruise control system to check for any obstacles in the path of travel. If it identifies anything, the system delivers a warning to the driver and it will immediately tightens the seatbelt in foresight of a possible crash. If the driver strikes the brake pedal, the computer immediately applies full braking force in order to reduce the stopping distance and try to avoid a crash. But if the driver will not do anything, the computer immediately applies some braking force in advance in order to decrease the force of impact.


Prius features an optional solar roof panel which utilizes the sun to energize cabin vent fans and keep the interior cool from attaining oven-like temperatures in the summer. It has also remote control air conditioning. Toyota manufactured the Prius' air conditioner as electric, similar to home unit, instead of riding it off a fan belt so that it can also run when the car’s gas motor is shut off.


At the time of sun set, the Prius has cool widgets to stimulate technophiles. The Prius is also made available with LED headlights.
