Know about Some Traditional Native American Spices

American countries, rather are not very popular with the spices. Though most of the American savories use spices, they are bought from the other countries. But still some lands in North and South America have some rarely available spices being grown. These are added in most of their delicacies as a tradition. Some of the most important spices native to American countries are:

Paprika: Paprika is native to Mexico, south and central America. It is also known as bell or chilli pepper. The flavor of Paprika varies from hot to mild depending upon the countries in which it is used. It is also used to add color to the food.
Vanilla: Vanilla is a native of Mexico. It has strong and sweet aroma. It is the most common flavoring agent. It is used as a flavor in preparation of ice creams, chocolates and other desserts. Due to its strong aroma it is used in liquid preparation.
Allspice: Allspice is a native of South Mexico and Central America. It has a combined flavor of cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon. It is a dried fruit and it resembles pepper. It is used in cooking of meat and sausages.

The other American spices are Pink pepper, oilseed pumpkin, chile, etc.
