Products Of Warehouse Automation

When trying to automate the warehouse, the single huge impact is attained by having a Presize line. Presize line will not only decrease the costs of packing significantly, but also provides the marketing department more flexibility. Due to the elevated complexity of packaging forms, packing for inventory can result in expensive repackaging and transporting. Pack-to-order is an essential component that customers desire and they also require their own box or package. This can be best attained by presizing inventory.

Presizing not only decreases warehouse costs, but also generates the best feasibility for the higher returns, using reduced contract and maximum product and customer combinations.

Automatic tray-fill lines are available with Presize operation. These lines are very effective and are element of the decreased costs of a presize operation. The tray-fill lines is assembled with tray denestors. The denestors places the trays on the belts automatically, without any person intervention. This helps in reducing the labor costs of the line by nearly ten percent. Now a days are tray inserters are available which are machines used to put the trays in a box. This will also result in considerable cost savings.

Automatic box fillers are machines which handles the complete work of a packer and put the products in the trays and in the box. Even though these machines can result in substantial labor savings, extended switch-over times to other box types will make them nearly inflexible.

Defect sorting is other part of warehouse automation. In this, the defect and grade sorting is performed by cameras without human sorters. This process is very complex even though it could result in big savings. Increased resolution of cameras, faster computers and more advanced software will make this process more beneficial in the future.

Other mechanisms in the warehouse that requires automation are segregation and palletizing. Automatic segregators and palletizers are expensive and the warehouse should have enough volume to have a moderate pay-back on the investment. But, it provides benefits in labor savings. The most common part of an automatic process in a warehouse is box making and box machines are essential for quality and costs.
