Precautions To Take While Going on Long Driving

When you are planning to go for long driving then you should always be ready to take this precautions. You need to plan everything in advance not only about the packing but also the car conditions as well as your rest/sleep. The following are the precautions that you should take when you are planning to take a long trip/drive.

Precautions for your alertness:
  • You should take at least two consecutive nights of sleep before you start your journey. This is to build energy, because when the temperature of the body is lower then naturally you will feel drowsy and get sleep. So you should carry variety of vitamin packed and healthy foods that will allow you to stay alert through out your driving.
  • For maximum energy keep full stock of water.
  • Plan your stops before and getup and stretch your hands, legs and also full body for every two hours.
  • It is better if you keep some chew gums with you, because when you chew the repetitive process will increase the alertness.
  • You should also keep some scents which give alertness and whenever you feel drowsy you just sniff it with its pleasant smell it will boost you and make you alert.
  • You should sit straight on the driving seat and make sure that you sit comfortable for maximum blood flow.
  • Listen some comedy CD's on tape which make you to laugh all the time. This will not only help you in keeping your brain active but also it will give all the passengers entertained.
  • Don't drink and drive this will not only make you tired but also leads to collision with other vehicles.
Precautions for car:
  • Before starting your journey the car should be checked in the servicing center for all includes tires, seat belts, wiper blades, hoses, horn, brakes, hazard lights etc. this should be checked and repaired immediately if you find any damages.
  • Fill up the fuel tank and keep some extra if necessary.
  • The car doors should be locked, not only for short journeys but it is important when you are traveling for long journeys.
  • All the passengers including driver should wear seat belts, this is the good way to prevent injuries in case of any car accidents.
  • You should drive responsibly, that means you should obey all the traffic rules and speed limits, proper signals while changing the lanes and you should be courteous with the other drivers. This will make safe and happy journey. 
  • You should take an extra care when you are driving in bad weather like snow fall , icy road, rain etc. so you should follow the traffic rules and should keep enough distance between the vehicles, abide speed limits, and pay an extra attention to the objective and vehicles around you.
