Know How to Clean an Air Purifier

Including an air purifier in home has become necessary in order to reduce the risk of health issues that are likely to arise from indoor air pollutants and contaminants. However, it is not just enough to select a right air purifier and install it at an appropriate place. Proper maintenance of the appliance is essential to ensure that it functions efficiently for a long time.
Regular cleaning of air purifier is an important part of its maintenance. However, it should be done based on the instructions given in the manual of the air purifier. First, disassemble the air purifier in order to clean. Remember the position of various parts you have taken out to ensure that they are placed back in the right place later. Better make a right notes to aid easy assembly. Clean the entire air purifier and its parts with a damp cloth that is wet with warm water. Make sure that all the grooves are cleaned well. Allow them to dry completely.
Filter cleaning and replacement should also be considered to enable proper functioning of the purifier. Most of the air purifiers have their filters underneath and towards the back side of the appliance. Remove the filter and check if it is reusable or not. The dust accumulated in the filters should be cleaned properly. If necessary, it can be rinsed with water to flush out the dirt out of the filter. Then allow it to dry naturally. It may take a few to several hours to dry based on the consistency of the filter. Once they are dried, replace them in their original position and assemble the purifier parts. If the filters are not in a reusable condition, consider purchasing new ones and install them. Following appropriate maintenance measures for effective functioning of air purifier is very much necessary. Otherwise the filters cannot trap the indoor pollutants any more and there will be no beneficial effect even if you use it continuously without maintenance.
